The Letim payment system, created for Russian tourists in Turkey after Mir cards stopped working in the country, will fully wind down its operations on November 30, 2026. The company announced this on its website.

Until that date, money in a Letim account can be spent on purchases online or in regular shops, or withdrawn to a account at a Russian bank. The company clarified that cash withdrawals and transfers to Turkish bank accounts have already been disabled as part of the service's wind-down.

After November 30, remaining funds can be recovered only by contacting Letim's customer support service. The service, which has operated since 2023, allowed users to top up an e-wallet from a bank account, pay for goods and services in Turkey, and withdraw cash at local ATMs.

Last autumn, the system experienced a malfunction that temporarily prevented tourists from topping up their accounts or withdrawing money from ATMs.
