Union Post — a newspaper and classifieds

Read issue 2

From the editor

Launching a newspaper in 2026 is an idea that is easy to laugh at. News now arrives faster than you can think it over, and a weekly issue seems to belong to the days of record players and LPs, which, incidentally, people have started buying again.

Perhaps that is why we took the idea on. We ourselves missed reading that has a beginning and an end: an issue you read through to the last page and put aside until next Sunday.

Into each issue we gather what, in our view, is worth knowing about the countries and cities where our readers live, and what is pleasant to read for no particular reason: cinema, science, travel and hobbies. Such an issue can be read over one unhurried breakfast, and for a couple of days afterwards you still recall something from it.

In time we would like readers themselves to write the paper more and more often, about their cities and what is happening in their neighbourhood. Whether it will work, we do not yet know, and the first issues will surely come out imperfect. There is only one way to find out, so we are beginning: every Sunday morning a new issue will appear here, on the site.
