On October 23, the studio Dynamic Games released Banana Life Sim on the Steam gaming service. In it, the player is invited to live out the life of a banana while standing in a forest. As the developers candidly warn in the description, the only action available is "mostly standing in one place."
The authors describe the gameplay as meditative. The list of features notes that the player is a banana, located in a forest, surrounded by other bananas, "and not only bananas." The main objective is to earn five rewards for time spent in the game. To become a "newcomer," one must remain a banana for one hour, while achieving the "divine" status requires staying in the game for a hundred hours straight, which is more than four days.
Buyers have taken the joke in good humor and leave ironic reviews. One of them reported having spent 105 hours in the demo, then, after purchasing the full game for 69 cents, instantly receiving all the rewards. Another praised the graphics and especially the plot, which, in his words, awakened feelings in him that he had never known before.
For Dynamic Games this is not the first project of this kind: the studio has previously released simulators of a coconut, a watermelon and grass. The bananas themselves have become something of a running joke on Steam after the free game Banana, in which one only had to click on the fruit, attracted almost 900 thousand players at the same time in 2024. A considerable share of them, as it turned out, were automated programs, bots that earned rare banana images for sale on the marketplace.
