The Yerevan municipality has announced a large city celebration to be held on Saturday, October 10. According to the event listing, a festival devoted to Armenian wines and national cuisine will take place on Northern Avenue. The celebration will be open to visitors from midday and will run until eleven o'clock in the evening.
The central part of the programme will be a large concert. Popular Armenian performers will take the stage, among them singer Sona Rubenyan, as well as Arpi and the group Hayway. The ensembles Tmbata and Ethno Colors will also perform.
Traditional music will hold a special place in the programme. The State Ethnographic Ensemble Akunk, as well as the Zvartnots ensemble, made up of kanun players, will perform for festival guests.
Alongside the concert, dance groups will perform on the avenue. The national dance group Menk and the traditional song and dance ensemble Masunk will showcase their art.
