Georgian bank TBC and the American Express payment system have announced a partnership: the bank will now accept American Express cards for payment in stores and online. The companies reported this on October 28.

For American Express cardholders, both local and those visiting Georgia, this means they can pay with their cards in more places, wherever payments are processed through TBC. Businesses that use the bank's services will be able to accept payments from customers holding cards from this system.

Sandro Rtveladze, TBC's director of retail business, said the partnership will give customers more choice and give shops the opportunity to serve more clients, including foreign guests. Sonia Devani, American Express vice president for the EMEA region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa, added that the company is striving to expand its card acceptance network worldwide.

According to American Express, as of July 2026, its cards are accepted at more than 190 million merchant locations around the world. Over the year, their number has grown by 20 million.

Entrepreneurs who want to connect American Express card acceptance through TBC can contact the bank by phone at (+995 32) 2 27 27 27 or find information on the website tbcbank.ge.
