Russian Applications for Cypriot Visas Resume

After a brief pause caused by technical problems, Cyprus visa centres are once again accepting documents. Booking an online appointment for submission, however, remains difficult for now.

Cyprus visa centres in Russia resumed accepting visa applications on 12 October. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia. Document submission had been suspended on 8 October because of technical problems at the republic's consulates.

The restrictions applied in six cities: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk. Operations have now been restored in all of them. The failure was caused by technical malfunctions at Cyprus's consulates in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Despite the resumption of work, the visa centres' websites are still malfunctioning and display an error when users try to access them. As a result, there may be difficulties booking an appointment to submit documents online and tracking the status of applications already filed.

Those whose appointments for 8–11 October were cancelled do not need to book again. According to the Association of Tour Operators, the visa operator BLS will contact applicants itself by phone or email to arrange a new time. New applicants are advised to try booking later, once the websites are working properly, or to contact the visa centre directly by phone.
