The retrospective exhibition "Yervand Kochar: A Multidimensional Genius (Tiflis — Paris — Yerevan)" has opened at the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery in Tbilisi, which is part of the National Museum of Georgia. The event is timed to the 35th anniversary of Armenia's independence and is held with the support of the republic's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and under the patronage of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia.
Yervand Kochar's work is presented through modern technologies and installations. The display is complemented by sculptural works by the contemporary artist Ashot Marabyan, created on motifs from the master's works.
Georgia's Deputy Minister of Culture Natia Shamatava, as well as Armenia's Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan and her deputy Alfred Kocharyan, reviewed the preparations for the opening.
A catalogue presentation has been timed to coincide with the opening. The publication, issued in three languages — Armenian, Georgian and English — includes important archival materials and previously unknown documents discovered in recent years.
As reported by Aliq.ge, the exhibition in Tbilisi will run until 8 November.
